๑ ＫＩＴＳＵＮＥ

     Kitsune are believed to possess superior intelligence, long life, and magical powers. They are a type of yōkai, or spiritual entity, and the word kitsune is often translated as fox spirit. However, this does not mean that kitsune are ghosts, nor that they are fundamentally different from regular foxes. 
Yuzuruha is a zenko, a good fox. This type of kitsune is considered celestial, benevolent and it’s associated with Inari.

๑ ＣＨＩＬＤＨＯＯＤ

    Yuzuruha is an illegitimate child that grew up among Shinto monks in the Grand Izumo Shrine. She’s the result of an affair that her mother had with a married male kitsune. Yuzuruha’s mother was incapable of taking care of her baby kit and one night she abandoned her cub at the entrance of the shrine. That is the only vivid memory which Yuzuruha kept of her mother through out her whole life. An image of deception…
    Other kitsune also residents of Izumo-taisha didn’t see Yuzuruha as an equal, ignoring and mistreating the young fox frequently due the fact that she was a living proof of an unconsummated relationship. Making the petite kit search for comfort in human company. 

๑ ＴＲＵＥ  ＣＯＬＯＲＳ
     Yuzuruha doesn’t like to assume her fox form due being raised by humans in Izumo-taisha and was always taught to repress her irrational ways.

๑ ＬＯＶＥ

   Haruka Doumeki (character from the XXXHolic series) was Yuzuruha’s one true love. They met in his shrine, by that time he was already married and with children on the way but it didn’t stop him from having an affair with the Vixen. Apart from  how troubled it all seemed, their relationship was long lasting and a period of pure bliss and passion. 

๑ ＳＨＩＥＬＤ

   After Haruka’s death Yuzuruha shut her heart completely. From that day on she wished she had died along with the man who gave her all. To avoid breaking her never mending heart she tried not to create any emotional ties with humans.

๑ ＳＥX

     When choosing a partner, gender is irrelevant to Yuzuruha. She’ll mingle with anyone as long as they fit her standards. Mainly attracted to strong minded and dominant individuals.

๑ ＨＥＡＲＴＢＲＥＡＫＥＲ 

    This temptress will have no problem at all in breaking someone’s heart. Most of the time, humans are just entertaining to her in the loneliest moments of boredom. Though she did become a little more considerate of human emotions since Haruka passed away. 

๑ ＶＡＮＩＴＹ

     Changing her appearance and style frequently is what she considers the most entertaining part of being a Kitsune. In a new habitat or when making new acquaintances comes a new persona.

๑ ＫＩＳＵＫＥ & ＴＯＲＡＨＩＭＥ

     Yuzuruha misses them dearly and it’s hard to imagine they’re no longer part of her life. She had great respect for both of them and found their relationship incredibly endearing.
When in Japan she always takes some time to leave freshly picked flowers in their graves.

๑ ＲＡＧＩＮＧ   ＤＲＵＮＫ

    When drunk, Yuzuruha alters her behavior completely. She takes on this violent and rude persona, dangerous to the ones that may approach her at such state. She also becomes frigid in intimate situations which is quite odd for a seductive being like her. 

๑ ＰＥＴ  ＰＥＥＶＥ

    Yuzuruha absolutely hates it when people demand to see her fox tail and ears. She just can’t comprehend how some humans are so fascinated with her natural characteristics, even considering them “cute”. Attempting to touch such areas would only result in a broken hand.

๑ ＨＯＵＳＥＷＩＦＥ

    Yuzuruha can’t cook nor does she have the patience to do so. The same goes for cleaning. 

๑ ＰＲＥＦＥＲＥＮＣＥＳ

    Due to her great attachment to humans during her childhood, still today, Yuzuruha prefers humans over her own kind. They are far more intriguing, though at times pitiful and predictable.

๑ ＭＵＴＴＳ 

   Yuzuruha hates dogs. They are capable of seeing through her disguise quite easily because of her scent.

๑ ＩＲＯＮＹ  

    The shrine where Yuzuruha’s mother abandoned her is dedicated to the Shinto deity of marriage, Okuninushi. 

๑ ＥＤＵＣＡＴＥＤ

 Not being blessed with death allowed her to infinitely pursuit knowledge. Fluent in numerous languages and an admirer of the fine arts and literature. Just having a pretty little face is not enough to keep you in this world.
